Manipur : State Issues Order To Restrict Drones And UAVs During Amit Shah's Visit

IMPHAL : Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be visiting the state of Manipur to inaugurate several new projects. The state administration has adviced to restrict any sort of drone operation and Unnamed Aerial vehicles (UAVs) during his two day visit. 

Shah will visit three district of Manipur namely, Imphal West, Bishnupur and Churachandpur. The prohibition on drone operation will take off from 4:30pm on Thursday, 5th January. 

According to sources, the union minister will inaugurate varied projects on the 6th of January, Friday. He will arrive at Imphal through an Indian Air Force (IAF) plane to launch the projects. 

Drones and UAVs are restricted in the West Imphal district, from Imphal International airport to Kangla park. Furthermore, certain key areas in Imphal like the Classic Grande will also abide by the prohibitory law. 

An official notification has been issued in the state regarding the timing, which is from 4:30pm 5th January, Thursday until the departure of Amit Shah on 6th January, Friday. Lourembam Bikram, the magistrate of Bishnupur district, issued an order stating that, there should not be any kind of drone operation and UAVs from Torbung till INA HQ. 

It should be restricted within one km radius area. Additionally, Moirang, Chengei Lampak till Ngangkhalawai Helipad Ground. Similar order has been issued in the Churachandpur district, where certain roads by which Amit Shah will travell has restricted drones and UAVs. 

The Manipur government has also issued warning regarding parked vehicles and construction piles in the routes through which Shah will travel. These should be removed by 10am on the 5th of January. 

The order also mentioned stern police action, in failure of the task. While attending an event in Imphal, CM N Biren informed that, Amit Shah will launch projects worth Rs 300 crore during his two day visit. The project that are scheduled to get inaugurated include the Olympian Park.
