IMPHAL: Police claimed on Monday that an unidentified person, who was celebrating Argentina's victory in the FIFA World Cup final, is suspected of being responsible for the tragic death of a 50-year-old woman in Manipur after she was struck by a stray bullet.

The woman's husband claims that as they were celebrating Argentina's victory against France, they also heard what sounded like gunshots and the sound of firecrackers from a tyre shop close to his home.

The woman was struck by the bullet and was later discovered unconscious. The woman's body was taken for an autopsy at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences in the Imphal East district.
