Guwahati: A militant belonging to the proscribed People's Liberation Army (PLA) outfit has been nabeed in Manipur's Bihsnupur district.

The insurgent was apprehended during a search operation conducted by both Assam Rifles and Manipur police in the Kodompokpi Lamkhai area based on intelligence inputs.

According to reports, he was later handed over to Nambol police station for legal proceedings.

Interestingly, earlier in a similar incident at top militiant was arrested in Manipur's Churachandpur district last month.

In this operation, the Assam Rifles acted on a tip-off with Manipur Police and arrested the chief of militant group United Tribal Revolutionary Army (UTRA) from Dampi village.

A pistol with seven bullets, a hand grenade and a mobile phone were recovered from him.
