11 COVID-19 positive cases in Meghalaya, says Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong informed that out of the 1,109 samples sent for testing, 1,000 people have tested negative of COVID-19.

The Chief Minister informed that there are only 11 active cases present in the State in which one person has lost his life due to the virus which totals to 12 cases in the entire State of Meghalaya.

He also informed that the government is still awaiting 97 samples which has been sent for testing.

Conrad said a total of 24,382 cases have been screened by the Health department out of which the number of persons in quarantine are around 5,208, both home and institutional quarantine.

He informed that till date, the number of calls received through the helpline has reached 49,391 and the number of people contacted through IVRS are 22, 303.
