SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Sunday recorded 13 new COVID-19 cases taking the State's tally to 249. Till Sunday evening, the total active cases are 248, including 178 Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, two Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel and 71 civilians. So far, 45 persons have recovered from the virus.
Among the civilians who contacted the virus on Sunday, one is a returnee who recently returned from Delhi, in East Garo Hills. "He is asymptomatic; and is now under isolation since his arrival at the Corona Care Centre," the East Garo Hills district administration stated. The State government on Saturday announced a 48-hour lockdown in Shillong Urban agglomeration on July 13 and 14 to trace high risk contacts of positive persons and also allow the Health workers to create awareness on the health protocols.
