SHILLONG: The Government of Meghalaya has decided to reimpose total lockdown in the Shillong agglomeration from midnight of July 26 to midnight of July 29.
This was informed by the Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong while speaking to reporters on Friday. He said this was in view of the spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the State.
Prestone Tynsong said, "Depending on the situation, if the situation worsens, we may extend the lockdown."
The Dy. CM also informed that some areas in and around Shillong has been declared as containment areas.
These include — Mawbah, Jhalupara, Barapathar, Mawlai Umshing, Upper Mawprem, Mawlai Umjaiur, Nongrim Hills, Laitumkhrah (Nazareth), Golf Links (Khlieh-Shnong), Lachumiere and Nongrah.
