SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Sunday registered 362 new COVID-19 cases and registered 4 deaths, which occurred in the East Khasi Hills (2), Eastern West Khasi Hills (1) and West Jaintia Hills (1).
Meanwhile, the State also recorded 424 new recovered cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered cases to 87,009. The tally of active cases has increased to 2,353 the Health Department said in a bulletin.
The total number of fatalities from COVID-19 infection stands at 1,522 so far.
East Khasi Hills has the highest number of active cases with 1,198. West Khasi Hills has 35 cases, East Garo Hills has 27, West Garo Hills has 519, Ri-Bhoi has 177, West Jaintia Hills has 84, East Jaintia Hills has 28, South West Khasi Hills has 56, South Garo Hills has 37, North Garo Hills has 60, Eastern West Khasi Hills has 52 and South West Garo Hills has 80.
The 362 new COVID-19 cases which have been detected are from East Khasi Hills (149), Eastern West Khasi Hills (8), East Jaintia Hills (10), Ri-Bhoi (19), South Garo Hills (5), South West Khasi Hills (10), West Jaintia Hills (8), West Garo Hills (133), North Garo Hills (6), West Khasi Hills (1), South West Garo Hills (13) and East Garo Hills (1).
The 424 recovered cases are from the East Khasi Hills (291), East Jaintia Hills (4), Eastern West Khasi Hills (8), Ri-Bhoi (19), South Garo Hills (6), South West Garo Hills (6), West Jaintia Hills (1), South West Khasi Hills (2), West Garo Hills (89) and West Khasi Hills (4).
