SHILLONG: BSF (Border Security Force) Meghalaya organized a civic action programme in village Phanda under South Garo Hills District of Meghalaya. The programme was inaugurated by Hardeep Singh, Inspector General BSF Meghalaya along with Avatar Singh Sahi, DIG BSF Shillong, Ramchander, Commandant 170 Bn and Ratikant Thakur, Commandant 43 Bn BSF.

During this civic action programme, computers, printers and other accessories alongwith School furniture's were distributed to Lower Primary School of village Phanda and Baghmara. About 150 student and School Teacher's, Nokma (Village Headman) of Village Phanda were present in the civic action programme and appreciated the efforts made by BSF for poor people of the village.

Addressing the gathering, Inspector General Hardeep Singh encouraged the border youths to refrain from illegal activities and engage themselves in some productive work. He also stated that BSF would continue organizing more such welfare programme to improve the living standard of needy border residents, stated a release.
