Charges against youths in connection with placing IED infront of NPP office refuted

SHILLONG: The leaders of Voice of Hynniewtrep People, Donbok Kharlyngdoh and Marbud Dkhar alleged that the five youths arrested in connection with placing IED infront of NPP office were not involved in the crime.

The propaganda by the government is aimed at boosting the image of NPP in view of the bypolls, they said, indicating that the arrest is politically motivated.

According to the leaders the youths from Umphyrnai were framed and they have no links with the incident as informed by the residents and leaders of the area. "Moreover, they are actually daily wage earners", they added.
