SHILLONG: The BSF Meghalaya organized civic action programmes in village Bholaganj and Pal Basti under East Khasi Hills district¬¬¬¬ of Meghalaya on Tuesday.
The programme was inaugurated by Hardeep Singh, Inspector General BSF Meghalaya along with Subash Chandra, DIG BSF Jowai and Rajshekar K N, Commandant 123 Bn BSF, stated a release. Various sports items were distributed in village Bholaganj while solar street lights were installed at border village Pal Basti under the civic action programme. It was organized to improve the quality of life, welfare of bordering villagers and to upgrade the existing infrastructure.
Hardeep Singh, Inspector General also addressed gathering on this occasion and encouraged border youths to remain physically fit in order to prepare a happy and prosperous country. IG BSF assured that BSF would continue providing such welfare/facility towards improvement of needy border residents. Border area population appreciated the efforts made by BSF at border area, the release added.
