TURA : Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, Ram Singh and other dignitaries, inaugurated the Residential Training Centre Training Centre of UISS, under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya-Grameen Kaushalya Yojna (DDU-GKY), at the Extension Training Centre at Dakopgre in Tura on 19 November.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister informed that there are large number of skill development programs across the country imparting training to the youth in the field of IT, soft skills, communication, etc. with placement opportunities. He also said that the Govt. of Meghalaya also will be coming out with the skill development program called "One skill one talent" which will be launched next year between January and February.
Urging the trainees to be attentive and well disciplined while undergoing the skill development training, the chief minister assured to provide all the necessary help and support to the DDU-GKY.
The Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh, while addressing the gathering, urged the students to go to other places and come back with ideas and skills so that they can start their own enterprises.
The CEO of SIRD, JC Lohani, highlighted the achievements of the DDU-GKY in Meghalaya and informed that the training centre will be imparting on Basic IT, soft skills, communication, etc. The Director of the UISS, Deepak Tiwari, proposed the vote of thanks.
On the day, the chief minister also inaugurated the Green Computer Labs and Smart Class-rooms at Bidanchi High School and Dobasipara High School and Apollo Clinic at Tura.
