WILLIAMNAGAR: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma along with Tura MP Agatha K Sangma inaugurated the newly constructed extension building of Loyola Higher Secondary School and the basketball court respectively at Dawagre locality of Williamnagar recently.
Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were Williamnagar MLA Marcuise N Marak, Rongjeng MLA Jim M Sangma, Deputy Commissioner Swapnil Tembe, Superintendent of Police Bruno A Sangma, Rev. Bishop Andrew R Marak, Regional Superior of Kohima Region Fr. Melvil Pereira, and the Principal of Loyola Higher Secondary School, Fr. Melwyn Fernandez.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that with the inauguration of new school building and the basketball court, the dreams and promises of former Lok Sabha Speaker Late PA Sangma have been fulfilled.
He also lauded the school management for its efforts to bring about infrastructural development in the area.
The basketball court of the school was sanctioned under the Chief Minister's Special Rural Development Fund (CMSRDF). Inaugurating it, Tura MP Agatha K Sangma recalled the contributions of Late PA Sangma towards the development of educational infrastructures in the region, adding that Loyala is dear to her.
During the inauguration of the school building, the Chief Minister also flagged off the new school bus donated to St. George Secondary School, Samanda, stated a release.
