SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Tuesday recorded 15 new COVID-19 cases taking the total active cases to 582. Meanwhile, there were 66 recoveries during the last 24 hours, said Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman Warr.
Of the 15 new cases, nine are from East Khasi Hills district (civilians: five, armed forces: two and BSF: two), five from West Garo Hills, and one from Ri-Bhoi district.
Of the 66 recoveries during the last 24 hours, East Khasi Hills accounted for 54 (BSF: 39, civilians: 14, and armed forces: one); South West Garo Hills: four; West Garo Hills: seven (one armed forces and six civilians); and Ri-Bhoi: one. As on date, the State has 330 recovered cases.
Of the 582 active cases, East Khasi Hills accounted for 473 (civilians: 224; BSF: 189, and armed forces: 60), West Khasi Hills: five; Ri-Bhoi: 55; West Jaintia Hills: 16; East Jaintia Hills: 17; West Garo Hills: 14 and South Garo Hills: two.
The samples sent for testing till Tuesday afternoon is 38,977. Of these, 37,584 results were negative and the report of 476 are being awaited.
Dr Warr also informed that a total of 25,218 stranded residents has returned to the State till date.
