DC Ram Singh holds meeting for mobilization of people for COVID vaccination

TURA: Given the surge in COVID positive cases, West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh, held an urgent meeting to discuss locality-wise mobilization of people for COVID vaccination in Tura Urban at DRDA Hall on Friday.

The meeting was attended by Tura Municipal Board members, Executive Magistrates, District Medical and Health Officer, District Immunisation Officer, District Disaster Management Authority, Church leaders, dedicated youth and COVID Management Committees.

Deliberating on the need for lifting of lockdown in the district thereby opening up economic activities, re-opening of educational institutions, etc. the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need to achieve 100 per cent vaccination and appealed to the officers, community and church leaders to motivate more people to come forward for vaccination. Giving examples of vaccinated localities in and around Tura, he also asked the Community leaders, COVID Management Committees and the church leaders to adopt a strategy to get more people vaccinated and to involve the youth and women groups in convincing the people, stated a release.
