WILLIAMNAGAR: East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Vibhor Aggarwal, has issued a circular instructing the shopkeepers, vendors, and consumers in the district to accept Rs 10 coins issued by the Reserve Bank of India. According to the circular, the shopkeepers, vendors, and consumers in the district refused to accept the Rs 10 coin, which is legal tender, thereby causing inconvenience and frustration among the public on every transaction. The circular also warned that refusal to accept the legal tender of payment will attract punishment under Section 188 of the IPC and Section 6(1) of the Indian Coinage Act, 2011., stated a press release.
