SHILLONG: Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal RD Mathur on Friday visited the Air Force Station at Laitkor Peak. He was accompanied by wife Shipra Mathur, president of the Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional), Eastern Air Command. They were received by Group Captain Manish Khullar, Station Commander.
Air Marshal RD Mathur was given a brief presentation which focused on the operational and war fighting capacity of the station. He also inspected all the units of the station and ongoing services. During interaction with the air warriors, the Air Officer emphasized on the need to be operationally focused and vigilant, especially in view of the ongoing security scenario.
Leading by example, the AOC-in-C practised live firing of small arms along with the air warriors at the Station Small Arms Firing Range. He also said that the station would be playing a key role during operations in times to come and touched upon various initiatives being taken by the IAF in terms of human resource management.
