SHILLONG: It's interesting to note that except South West Khasi Hills district, COVID-19 cases have been reported from all the other districts of Meghalaya. This has become possible due to strict enforcement of the Standard Operational Protocol (SOP) and the all-out cooperation extended by the Village Councils across the district.

The Village Council volunteers maintain 24x7 vigil to ensure that there is no entry of any new persons including even those who may return from Shillong, where the coronavirus tally has nearly touched the 500 mark. Any one returning to their respective villages must immediately go for quarantine, informed a village council volunteer over the phone.
