Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) threat: Candidates, Ministers will be given security

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that security to candidates and cabinet ministers will be provided in the wake of threat by Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC).

It may be mentioned that the banned HNLC had threatened NPP after it claimed responsibility for planting an IED infront of NPP office in Lachaumiere.

The Chief Minister further said that security will be increased in the city and across the state.

Conrad Sangma was speaking to reporters on Thursday after NPP candidates filed their nominations for Mawryngkneng and Mawphlang.

When asked, he said that there is no anti-incumbency on the part of the party.
