Jaintia Students' Union (JSU) demands probe in JHADC

SHILLONG: The Jaintia Students' Union (JSU) has demanded from the government to immediately probe into the alleged misuse of Rs 5.78cr by Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) . Issuing a statement on Saturday, the JSU while expressing concern over the inability of the JHADC to pay the salary of it employees for the past eight months, stated, "After following up, the union found out that there is rampant corruption in the council under the present leadership". The JSU also gave a breakout of the council revenue generation through numerous sources that is in not in consonance with the budget placed recently.
