SHILLONG: In an Executive Committee meeting of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) held today chaired by the Chief Executive Member (CEM) Titosstarwell Chyne it has decided to approach Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma one last time to release the pending Rs 20 crore plus form the first instalment issued by the 15th Finance Commission through the Tide scheme. "We have had a discussion with the government in the past to release the amount which is sanctioned to the council, however to date it has not been released," Chyne told reporters here on Friday. He also informed that due to the delay in releasing the first instalment the second installment has also been delayed. "After we meet the Chief Minister and if this amount is not released we will have to take another course of action," he said. Stating that the 15th Finance Commission has sanctioned the KHADC, Rs 192 crore, he said this delay by the State government has affected the release of the second instalment which the council was supposed to receive this March 2021. The CEM informed that members of the district council will be meeting with the Chief Minister on Monday to discuss this issue.
