Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) Condemns Post on Social Media

SHILLONG: The Executive Committee of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has condemned the degrading remarks on social media made by one person against Umsning MDC Macdalyne Sawkmie Mawlong.

It may be mentioned that the MDC on August 3, has filed an FIR against miscreants responsible for using derogatory remarks and shaming her on Facebook.

The matter came to light after a Facebook post went viral on social media wherein degrading remarks were made against the MDC by a FB user.

However, Laitumkhrah police arrested one Benjamin Syiemlieh (34) from Mawpat on Saturday night for posting lewd and derogatory comments and body shaming MDC.

Speaking to reporters, KHADC CEM Teinwell Dkhar said, “We as an executive committee of the district council along with all the MDCs condemn this kind of behavior.”

The CEM also urged the youths of the State to take thing twice before making such remarks against anyone in the near future because the law will take action against them.
