MBOSE HSSLC Result 2020: Girls outshine boys in Commerce; boys fare better in Science

Guwahati: This year in the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) conducted 12th examinations, boys fared better in the Science stream in comparison to girls, while the ladies performed better in Commerce.

The Commerce stream has shown better results compared to Science, with a total pass percentage of 77.28%. Science stream students secured a pass percentage of 72.24%. The pass percentage of Vocational Education students this year is 83.33%.

Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) on Thursday declared the results of the HSSLC or the 12th standard exams. The results for the students of Science, Commerce, and Vocational courses have been announced.

In the regular category, the Commerce stream students fared better than the students of Science stream, with a percentage of 79.60% vs. 74.52 %. In the science stream, boys outshone girls with a pass percentage of 77.76% whereas for the girls it was 71.93%. In Commerce, girls did better than boys and secured a pass percentage of 83.02%, while the boys secured 77.16%.

In the non-regular category, the pass percentage for the science stream is 54.63% while the pass percentage of the Commerce stream is 59.68%. Girls did better in both Science and Commerce streams in the non-regular category with pass percentages of 58.46% and 71.60%, respectively. Boys secured a pass percentage of 51.16% in Science, and 54.07% in Commerce.

Securing 468 marks, Kaustab Choudhury from the St. Anthony's Higher Secondary School topped the Science stream, while Komal Sharma, from the same school topped the Commerce stream, securing 445 marks.
