Shillong: Former Minister and three-time MLA from Rangsakona LAC, Adolf Lu Hitler Marak, joined the All India Trinamool Congress Party (TMC).

Apart from him, the former vice president of the BJP Meghalaya, David Ch Marak, and retired education department official Bhupendra G Momin also joined TMC.

The trio formally joined the party in the presence of MLAs, Zenith Sangma, and Lazarus Sangma along with other MDCs in the function held their offices in Tura town.

Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, AITC said, ''For Meghalaya's prosperous future!

Inspired by our progressive vision, former MLA Adolf Lu Hitler Marak, former BJP VP Mr. David Ch Marak, and Retd. Joint Director of Education Dept. Mr Bhupendra G Momin joined us in South Tura, West GH.''

AITC further said that MLA Zenith M Sangma, MLA Lazarus Sangma, former MLA Noverfield R Marak, MDC Sadhiarani M Sangma, District Convenor Richard M Marak, District Coordinator Safford N Sangma, former MDC Rupert M Sangma & other leaders welcomed them.

Speaking on the occasion, Zenith asserted that more leaders would soon join the party in the coming days.

''We are witnessing that people from different walks of life are joining us and this will continue for forwarding as well,'' Zenith added.

Zenith further added that believing that TMC could bring development; the leader joined the party without any conditions as he only wanted to help in the development of the state.

Meanwhile, Hitler expressed hope that the TMC would be formed as his experience as a leader would help the party.

Commenting on the border pact with Assam, he asserted that the government should first introspect whether the land belonged to the people or the state and it should also think about whether it had the right to give it to Assam without the consent of the people of those affected areas.
