Meghalaya BJP Team Meets Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel

SHILLONG: South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai accompanied by State BJP president Ernest Mawrie and a host of other party leaders met Union Tourism and Culture Minister of State (independent charge) Prahlad Singh Patel and discussed tourism development in the State.

Shullai requested the Tourism Minister for early release of the first instalment of the Development of Northeast Circuit Scheme for which the Central Government had sanctioned Rs 85 crore.

The chairman also requested for early sanctioning of the Spiritual Circuit and Prasad Scheme for which the State had submitted a total project cost to the tune of Rs 97 crore.

The MLA briefed the minister that the State has benefited from sustained self-revenue generation and employment from the Swadesh Scheme.

The MLA also requested the minister to support the State by sanctioning various funds so as to support the 20 years vision document to be launched by MTDC Ltd.
