SHILLONG: Together with other state TMC leaders, Meghalaya TMC hosted a Block Level Meeting in Mawngap village, Mawphlang constituency, spreading their wings across the East Khasi Hills.

George B. Lyngdoh, a Meghalaya TMC MLA, commented on the atrocities committed by the BJP against Christians across the country and predicted that a day would soon come when the people of Meghalaya would suffer the same fate under a BJP-proxy administration.

The BJP has begun to implement its policy, he duly noted. They are closely monitoring how many churches we have, how many pastors we have, and how many families have joined the Christian community in the past six years.

He criticised the BJP harshly, claiming that its goal is to homogenise all the states, adding that "Churches are collapsing. We must speak out against this and take a position. The legacy of the state is damaged by its presence.

Lyngdoh said, "We came here for your families and children, though, with a firm belief in the veracity of Meghalaya TMC's pledges. We began by promising to fully support women in every home by introducing the Women Empowerment Card (WE Card) under the MFIWE Scheme in 2023.

Many Meghalaya TMC leaders were in attendance during the event, including Meghalaya TMC Vice President George B. Lyngdoh, Meghalaya TMC Vice President James Lyngdoh, Meghalaya TMC Vice President Kathelene Marbaniang, Meghalaya TMC Block President Elgiva Rynjah, and Mawphlang Block Convenor Mawkordor Rynjah, among others.

Kimfa Marbaniang, a Congress lawmaker from the Rambrai seat, is also reportedly preparing to submit his resignation to Meghalaya Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh. Notably, the aforementioned MLA who was expelled from the Congress party would join the NPP. On December 19, Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh, the East Shillong Constituency's Congress MLA, submitted her letter of resignation to the party.

The Indian National Congress gave Lyngdoh the opportunity to serve the people of Meghalaya as a minister and as a representative of my East Shillong constituency. The party also appointed her as secretary of the All India Congress Committee. Lyngdoh expressed her gratitude for the party's support thus far in a letter to the party's president, Mallikarjun Kharge.
