SHILLONG: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has urged the religious leaders to play an active role in assisting the government in fighting the deadly COVID-19. Sangma held a review meeting at Williamnagar town on Friday along with the Deputy Commissioner and other health officials. Speaking after the meeting, the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma stated, "The presentation gave a picture that the current situation seems to be under control as of now. There 44 active cases.
He also asked the community and religious leaders to ensure that the people wear masks, maintain social distancing and go for vaccination in their respective PHC, CHC and hospitals.
