Guwahati: Garod LSN Dykes, the District Magistrate of the West Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya has lifted the containment area restrictions from the entire building of (L) Arwot Lamare, Ladthalaboh Main Road, Khliehumsacham, Land Mark Ladthalabob, Moosalyngkat road, Jowai after no fresh COVID-19 cases were reported.

As per the order issued by Garod on Friday, "the containment tag will be lifted from 5.00 AM of 29th August, 2020 until further orders."

"The containment order was lifted on the report received from the Health & Family Welfare Department, West Jaintia Hills that the contact tracing exercise conducted by the Contact Tracing Team and also Behaviour Change Management Training has been completed in the entire building," the Government's order stated.

The District Magistrate has further informed that the declaring of the entire area as containment area has been lifted under the following conditions:

The Village COVID-19 Management Committee, Ladthalaboh in coordination with the District Administration, Jowai Municipal Board and District Surveillance Officer will be strictly monitoring behavioral change amongst the residents to enhance to the new norms of living with COVID-19 which includes the mandatory wearing of face masks in public spaces, maintaining physical distancing and regular hand hygiene. 

The members of the public are requested to adhere to the following advisories, to maintain a Social distancing of at least 2 meters (6 feet), and not to overcrowd areas in order to prevent an outbreak in the region.
