SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Sunday recorded one more COVID-19 death taking the number of fatalities to 134, informed Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War.
The new casualty was registered in West Garo Hills district. Meanwhile, 32 new cases were recorded taking the number of active cases in the State to 499 even as 89 infected patients recovered during the last 24 hours, taking the number of recovered cases to 12, 620.
East Khasi Hills district registered 28 new cases (Armed & paramilitary forces: two; civilians: 26); West Garo Hills: three (Armed & paramilitary forces: one; civilians: two) and Ri-Bhoi: one.
East Khasi Hills district still remains the most affected with 317 active cases.
Meanwhile, the East Khasi Hills district administration has permitted the reopening of cinema halls from December 21 subject to compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the General Administration Department, Government of Meghalaya.
