Meghalaya COVID cases rise to 215 with 76 fresh cases on Saturday

SHILLONG: The COVID-19 curve in Meghalaya continues to climb steadily with 76 fresh cases on Saturday. With 76 persons testing positive, the State's active cases shot up to 215 till the filing of this report. The state has so far recorded 312 cases which include 45 persons who have recovered and two patients succumbed to the virus.

The State recorded the first death on April 15 when renowned physician Dr John L. Sailo Ryntathiang passed away after he was tested positive on April 13. The death of an eight-month-old baby boy from Arunachal Pradesh at NEIGRIHMS on July 7 has added the State's toll to two. The baby was brought to NEIGRIHMS for treatment of an ailment; but he was tested positive for COVID-19 and later succumbed to the infection.
