SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Wednesday registered 128 new COVID-19 cases taking the active cases in the State to 2,411. Meanwhile, 88 new recoveries were also recorded during the last 24 hours, taking the number of recoveries to 4,694. Meghalaya has so far recorded 7,165 COVID-19 positive cases of which 60 died of the virus.

Of the fresh cases, the maximum number was detected in East Khasi Hills with 72 (Armed and paramilitary forces: seven; civilians: 65); Ri-Bhoi: 33 (Armed and paramilitary forces: one; civilians: 32); West Garo Hills: 11 (Armed and paramilitary forces: one; civilians: 10); East Garo Hills: four; South Garo Hills: three; West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills: two each; and North Garo Hills: one.

On Wednesday, East Khasi Hills recorded the maximum number of 69 recoveries (Armed and paramilitary forces three; civilians: 66); East Jaintia Hills: seven; North Garo Hills: five; West Garo Hills: five; and Ri-Bhoi: two.
