SHILLONG: On Tuesday, residents in Meghalaya discovered a severed head close to the Umiam Lake's banks and promptly called the police.

The person's identification has not yet been determined. However, the deceased's gender has been established as being male.

The police were notified by the localities, and the head was transported to the Nongpoh Civil Hospital for an autopsy.

The police are currently attempting to locate the body after filing a case in connection with the incident. According to sources, the man's murder has been proven, but more information won't become available until the man's identity is revealed.

In Assam’s Nalbari district on Tuesday, the body of a young man with his throat cut was discovered floating in a gutter.

The dead have been identified as Sajahan Ali, also known as Jintu, a Dhamdhama native and the son of Sader Ali.

After the body was discovered by several people in the Chengnoi hamlet of the Dhamdhama region of Nalbari, the tragedy was made public.

According to reports, the man was injured and put in the drain, where he bled to death. The Nalbari police arrived on the scene right away and removed the body. Later, the body was sent for an autopsy.

In connection with the incident, an individual named Mofiz Ali has been detained by the police. The incident was the subject of a police inquiry.

Nine people have been detained in relation to the pre-election violence-related murder of Imkongjiba Kichu, a resident of Chungtia hamlet who went missing on February 21 and was subsequently discovered dead.

In a Monday update, Additional SP & PRO, Mokokchung police reported that PS-II had received a written FIR indicating that the victim had been attacked between Satier and New Camp by some unidentified miscreants and had since vanished.

The police responded quickly to the scene to verify the report and start a search, but the victim could not be found.

The victim's body was found the next day in a remote jungle between Satier and New Camp after an investigation was launched to find out the truth and locate the missing person, according to the release.

The deceased was quickly identified by one of the police teams that responded to the scene, according to the police, and an inquest was then held in front of the magistrate and other witnesses.
