SHILLONG: The Prime Minister of the country will participate in a roadshow in Meghalaya on Friday to campaign for the candidates of his party in the upcoming assembly polls.
Narendra Modi is another star campaigner for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Northeast Indian states of Nagaland and Meghalaya. Both of these states will go to voting on February 27 and the last day of campaigning will be Saturday. He will take visit both states today to encourage the voters of both states to vote for their candidates in the upcoming elections.
He will take part in a rally in the Khyndailad area of Shillong to encourage the voters of the state. The prime minister will also be paying his tribute to three freedom fighters of the state during his election-time visit to the state. U Tirot Sing, U Kiang Nangbah and Pa Togan Sangma are the freedom fighters that the leader will pay his respects to.
The politician will also be taking part in an election roadshow as well as addressing an election rally in the Tura region of western Meghalaya after completing the rally in Shillong. The event will take place in the Alogtre Stadium in the Tura region of the West Garo Hills.
The president of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Meghalaya, Ernest Mawrie had announced about these rallies.
Bharatiya Janata Party’s Vice President, Bernard N Marak is contesting these elections against the chief of the National People’s Party and the chief minister during the previous term of the Meghalaya Assembly, Conrad K Sangma. "To have the PM campaign in my constituency is a blessing. That he is coming to Tura itself will augur well for the party as it indicates how seriously the BJP is taking this election. Everyone in Garo Hills is excited about his visit," Bernard N Marak had mentioned.
