Shillong: In a bid to decongest the Shillong, the Meghalaya government has decided to shift the administrative office of the state government to New Shillong Township.
The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting in the state on Monday.
In this regard, giving further information, state Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui asserted that the government has acquired around 800 crores of land.
According to reports, the foundation laying stone of the new administrative office building will take place on January 21, 2022.
Apart from these, in today's cabinet meeting, there many vital decisions were taken and one of them was the approval of the early childhood mission.
This said mission aims to provide a secure, exciting, and developmentally relevant learning environment with a quality academic curriculum that helps all children's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
The state government has also decided to extend the upper age limit for recruitment to the various government jobs in the state.
The government is proposing to increase the upper age limit by five years.
