SHILLONG: As a part of the protest programme as announced by the AICC, the protest against the three farmers Bills passed by the Government recently in both Houses of the Parliament, Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) organised a meeting at Congress Bhavan on Monday.

The meeting was led by James S.Lyngdoh, working president, Bajop Pyngrope,MDC, and George B Lyngdoh, MLA.

In his address, the MPCC working president spoke of the measures that the Bills would unleash on the farmers.

According to Lyngdoh it will end the Minimum Support Price (MSP), allow unregulated market and facilitate the entry of rich private business houses, end 'Cooperative Federalism' (enshrined in the Constitution), and posze tremendous impact on employment in the Agricultural sector.

After the meeting, a memorandum addressed to the President of India was handed over to the Raj Bhawan.
