SHILLONG: Meghalaya recorded 19 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the State's tally to 413.

Moreover, three more patients recovered from the virus bringing the total number of such cases to 52.The number of samples sent for testing till date is 28455, the number of samples tested negative are 27466 and the number of report awaited is 520. So far a total of 22,843 stranded residents of Meghalaya have come back to the State.

Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman Warr informed that out of the 19 new cases, while 16 are Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, three are civilians.

Of the three civilians, while one is from Khanapara, another is a high-risk contact of a personnel from the Assam Regimental Centre and the third is also a high-risk contact of the wedding returnee from Bihar staying at Keating Road.

On Monday, two cases were recorded in West Garo Hills, and one in South West Garo Hills.

The district wise break up of the cases are as follows. East Khasi Hills: 356 (278 from the BSF; 14 from the armed forces; and civilians: 64); Ri-Bhoi: 36; West Garo Hills: 13; Two each from East Jaintia Hills, South West Garo Hills, and South Garo Hills; besides one each from East Garo Hills and North Garo Hills.
