SHILLONG: Meghalaya recorded more than 200 new COVID-19 cases for the second consecutive day on Sunday. According to health authorities, the State recorded 254 fresh infections and four new deaths. The State also recorded 222 new recovered cases.

Health authorities said that of the four deaths, three were not vaccinated and three were from East Khasi Hills district and one from South West Garo Hills district. With the latest figures, the State now has 1,329 total deaths, 2,234 active cases and 73,458 people have so far recovered from the virus.

Of the 254 new cases, West Khasi Hills district recorded 133, East Khasi Hills district 81, West Garo Hills district 15, West Jaintia Hills district 10, Ri-Bhoi district six, East Jaintia Hills district four, South Garo Hills district and South West Khasi Hills district two each and East Garo Hills district one.
