SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Monday recorded one COVID-19 death and 134 fresh infections while 260 people recovered from the virus, authorities informed. According to health authorities, the lone fatality recorded on Monday was not vaccinated. The death recorded on Monday is from Ri-Bhoi district.

With the latest figures, the State now has 1,307 total deaths, 2,509 total active cases and 71,919 have so far recovered from the virus. Of the 134 new cases, East Khasi Hills district recorded 78, Ri-Bhoi district 25, West Jaintia Hills district 12, East Jaintia Hills district eight, West Khasi Hills district five, South West Khasi Hills district three, West Garo Hills district two and South Garo Hills district one.

East Khasi Hills district has the highest number of deaths with 905.
