SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Friday registered 361 new COVID-19 cases and registered 6 deaths - five in the East Khasi Hills and one in West Garo Hills.

Meanwhile, the State also recorded 348 new recovered cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered cases to 86,265.

The tally of active cases has increased to 2,422 the Health Department said in a bulletin.

The total number of fatalities from Covid-19 infection stands at 1,515 so far.

East Khasi Hills has the highest number of active cases with 1,381. West Khasi Hills has 27 cases, East Garo Hills 20, West Garo Hills 471, Ri-Bhoi 178, West Jaintia Hills 85, East Jaintia Hills 35, South West Khasi Hills 46, South Garo Hills 30, North Garo Hills 53, Eastern West Khasi Hills 46 and South West Garo Hills 50.
