SHILLONG: Meghalaya, on Tuesday, recorded 63 new COVID-19 cases even as 101 persons recovered from the infection bringing down the number of active cases across the State to 971, informed Director of Health Services (MI), DrAman War.
Of the 9,741 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the State till date, as many as 8,680 patients have recovered, 971 are active and 90 persons have so far died of the virus.
Of the new cases, 19 cases were recorded in East Khasi Hills; 11 in Ri-Bhoi; eight each in East Jaintia Hills and West Jaintia Hills; six in West Garo Hills; four in West Khasi Hills; three in East Garo Hills; two in South Garo Hills; and one each in North Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills.
Dr. War also informed that of the 101 new recovered cases, 40 were recorded in West Khasi Hills; 23 in West Jaintia Hills; 11 each in East Garo Hills and Ri-Bhoi; seven in East Khasi Hills; five in West Garo Hills; three in East Jaintia Hills; and one in North Garo Hills. Of the 2,04,462 samples sent for testing, as many as 1,94,721 came out negative. Altogether 54,532 persons have entered the State till date.
