Meghalaya registers 8 new COVID cases; 1 death reported

SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Friday registered 8 new COVID-19 cases and registered 1 death.

Notably, the state also recorded 10 new recovered cases in last 24 hours, with this the total recovered cases reaches 83222.

The tally of active cases stands at 77, the health department said in a bulletin.

The total number of fatalities from COVID-19 infection stands at 1482 so far.

It is to be mentioned here that East Khasi Hills has the highest number of active cases with 57, West Khasi Hills 0, East Garo Hills 4, West Garo Hills 3, Ri Bhoi 9, West Jaintia Hills 0, East Jaintia Hills 2 and South West Khasi Hills 1.

The person who died due to the virus today was from East Khasi Hills.
