SHILLONG: Meghalaya, on Saturday, registered a record number of persons who recovered from COVID-19 infections. The hill State recorded 918 new recoveries; 343 fresh infections; and seven fatalities.
With the latest figures, the State now has 1,220 total deaths; 3,931 active cases; and 66,237 total recovered cases.
Health authorities informed that of the seven deaths, six were not vaccinated.
Of the 343 new cases, 147 were recorded in East Khasi Hills district; 69 in West Jaintia Hills; 46 in West Garo Hills; 43 in West Khasi Hills; 17 in Ri Bhoi; eight in East Jaintia Hills; six in South West Khasi Hills; three in South West Garo Hills; two in South Garo Hills; and one each in East Garo Hills and North Garo Hills districts.
Of the 3,931 active cases, 1,578 were regstered in East Khasi Hills district; 608 in West Khasi Hills; 450 in West Garo Hills; 442 in West Jaintia Hills; 429 in Ri Bhoi; 207 in South West Khasi Hills; 51 in East Jaintia Hills; 43 in East Garo Hills; and 41 each in North Garo Hills, South Garo Hills, and South West Garo Hills districts.
