SHILLONG: A total of 58, 625 students will appear for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination, to be conducted by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) from March 24.

MBoSE authorities informed that of these, 33, 278 are girls and 25, 347 are boys.

The total examination centres in the State are 152, with Shillong Region having the maximum number of examination centres with 87, while Tura region has 65.

Meanwhile, a total of 28, 174 students will appear in the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination, which starts on March 25. Of these 12, 936 are girls and 10, 128 are boys.

A total of 3,033 students are appearing in the Science Stream in the HSSLC examination, 2,069 students are appearing in the Commerce Stream and the Arts streams has the most number of candidates with 23, 064. There are 105 centres which will hold the HSSLC examination, of which Shillong region has 66 and Tura region has 39.
