Meghalaya SSLC Exams Starts Today, Female Candidates Outnumber Male Counterparts for SSLC, HSSLC

A total of 33,278 female candidates and 25, 347 male candidates will be appearing in the SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) starting from 24 March.

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Board of School Education is all set for conducting the HSSLC (Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate) and SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) for this year.

The board informed that more than 58,000 students will be sitting in the SSLC 2022 including students in the category of Regular 1, Regular 2, non-regular, private and improvement candidates.

Most notably, after long years of a gap this time in SSLC examination, the female candidates of total 33,278 outnumbered their male counterparts which have a total of 25, 347 candidates.

Similarly, in the HSSLC examination in Meghalaya, a total of 23, 064 female candidates will be appearing on the tally outnumbering the male counterparts of total of 10,128 candidates.

A total of the 58, 625 students will be appearing in this year's SSLC examination among which 25, 486 falls in the Regular 1 category, 15, 061 in Regular 2 and 11,337 are in non-regular. A total of 385 students will appear in the category of private and 9 in the improvement candidates.

The theory examination of SSLC 2022 is scheduled to start today on Thursday 24 March and will end on 6th April 2022 while the HSSLC will commence tomorrow on Friday 25 March.

The Secondary School Leaving Certificate examination will be conducted in 152 exam centres among which 65 centres fall in the Tura area and 87 centre in Shillong.

Meanwhile, senior authorities of the exam conducting body and the education department are currently working for the smooth functioning of the exams commencing soon.

On Wednesday 23 March the Education department of Meghalaya informed that it has made ensuring about all necessary arrangements of the examination in association with district administration.

A senior official of the department stated that a confidential report will be submitted by the supervisor of the examination in different centres. They will submit the report by the end of the examinations.

In addition, the state government has put in place a flying squad so that it can troubleshoot any issue throughout the board examination.
