SHILLONG: The Meghalaya State BJP said that it has come to their notice that hundreds of miscreants forcefully boarded a "Shramik Express" train carrying passengers from the northeastern States, including Meghalaya, at the Danapur station in Bihar.

These miscreants, who wanted to travel back to their homes for celebrating Eid today, not only allegedly misbehaved, but also physically assaulted the passengers.

State president of BJP, Ernest Mawrie expressed shock that such an incident could take place despite the lockdown measures enforced by the local administration of Bihar.

He urged the people to cooperate with each other during the COVID-19 threat as the government is plying these trains for the benefit of stranded workers and not for facilitating people to celebrate religious festivals.

Mawrie strongly condemned the unpleasant incident and said he will be taking up the matter with the railway authorities, the government of Bihar and the State president of Bihar BJP.
