SHILLONG: Meghalaya TMC MLA Zenith Sangma from Rangsakona visited the flood-affected areas in his constituency in West Garo Hills.

Sangma took stock of the current situation and distributed food grains such as rice and dal to 900 families.

Accompanied by the youth members of Meghalaya TMC, he patiently listened to aggrieved people. Sangma also assured us that Meghalaya TMC will continue to voice out the needs of the people at every juncture ahead.

The recent floods and landslides have severely affected thousands of people in several parts of Meghalaya, leaving many without a roof over their heads, and without access to food, and other necessities.

Meanwhile, TMC MLA from Chokpot Lazarus Sangma and MDC from Kharkutta Cherak W Momin visited the flood-affected areas of their respective constituencies of Chokpot and Kharkutta respectively.

The visits were part of TMC Meghalaya's ongoing relief and rehabilitation works for the affected people across the Garo Hills and the rest of the state.

The Crockpot MLA took stock of the damages caused by the floods affecting different aspects of people's lives.

Sangma in his visit checked the damages caused to the Dagal Gopre Jangdam hanging bridge over Kakija River in Chokpot South Garo Hills.

In addition to this, he visited the flood-affected households of Mibonpara and Durabanda Wangmagwi villages in the Chokpot Constituency. Taking note of all the problems faced by affected people across Chokpot and the economic damages caused by floods, Sangma assured people of uninterrupted support.

On the other hand, the Kharkutta MDC visited the flood-affected villages and families of the deceased flood victims of Kharkutta, North Garo Hills.

Momin expressed his sympathies to the surviving family members and prayed for the peace of the deceased's souls and patience for the surviving family members.

The Kharkutta MDC extended help to the family of the deceased and pledged to continue helping the affected families, reiterating TMC Meghalaya's unwavering solidarity and support for the people of Meghalaya through thick and thin.
