SHILLONG: More than 2 lakh people has been registered under the Meghalaya Youth Empowerment (MYE) scheme initiated by the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC). 

The party on Monday revealed that, in less than a month and with constant assistance by the youths, MYE by AITC has successfully incorporated over two lakh names under the scheme. 

The MYE scheme assured three lakh job opportunities across the state of Meghalaya to eradicate the issue of employment and assist the unemployed people with some sort of financial stability. Along with that, the scheme provides Rs 1000 to each of the ideal individuals on a monthly basis. 

Meghalaya TMC leader, Andrew Shullai, expressed his gratitude to the people of the state for their unparalleled cooperation. He added that, political parties who has no motive to work towards the needs people are trying to talk against the TMC. 

However, the youths of Meghalaya with their wisdom is cooperating with the party to bring a revolutionary change and to build up a stable future. Shullai will be contesting the upcoming election from Jowai region. 

The response to MYE has boosted the party to work more efficiently for the youths of Meghalaya and offer them employment security. All the youths whose name has been incorporated in the MYE scheme will get a ID card which will act as an assurance. 

Notably, this is the party's second electoral assurance, following the We Card which focused on inclusion of women in the financial sphere. Charles Pyngrope, the TMC state president mentioned the motive behind this theme is to cover up the failure of the NPP-led MDA government to provide employment during their five years ruling phase.

He further claimed that, both NPP and BJP government has failed to offer the youths of Meghalaya a source of income. Instead, the administration passed on the burden in their shoulders.
