Meghalaya to Host 1st-Ever Nokrek Festival, Know More

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Tourism department gears up to present the first-ever Nokrek Festival 2021 in East Garo Hills.

The festival will be organised by the A'chik Tourism Society. It will be a joyful and frolicsome time.

With sports, gastronomy, music, and cultural events, as well as adventure, the festival is getting up to rock ahead of Christmas. The celebration is being organised to mark the Golden Jubilee of the state of Meghalaya's creation.

The A'chik Tourism Society will feature a number of competitions during the course of the two-day event. Archery, a traditional Meghalayan sport, will be a feature of the festival. There will be a singing competition and a dancing competition during the event.

The "Inter-Village Tug of War," a sport in which a lot of villages from all across Meghalaya compete, will be staged.

Citrus tasting competitions, ziplining cooking competitions, and traditional music competitions are just a few of the activities scheduled for the occasion.
