SHILLONG: An unsettling occurrence that occurred in Laitumkhrah in the early hours of July 7 was a violent altercation between two parties that caused extensive mayhem and damage.

The fight got out of hand, and on the grounds of the police station, a mob set a police car on fire. Investigations are being conducted to understand what happened, but the reason for this act is still unknown.

Laitumkhrah was in a state of chaos after a violent incident broke out there between two parties around 12:30 and 1:00 am. Stones were thrown, and tensions between the opposing factions swiftly grew during the altercation. Unrest in the area was apparently brought on by a clash that started close to the DHS headquarters.

An irate mob gathered outside the neighbourhood police station and took severe action by setting fire to a police car that was parked there, adding to the mayhem. The reason for this deliberate act of arson is currently being looked into. The fundamental causes of this worrying incident are being investigated by police.

On the other hand, the state of Manipur is in disarray after new gunfire broke out in Churachandpur on July 7, tragically killing two local volunteers and injuring three more. An exchange of fire is apparently taking place, adding to the already high tensions, according to sources. Around 4:30 am, a shooting incident came out, raising more questions about the local security situation.

Bunkers in the Kangpokpi, Imphal West, and Churachandpur districts were to be demolished as part of an operation that was started on July 6 by the Manipur police and national security forces. In the course of this combined action to uphold law and order, four bunkers were destroyed. Additionally, efforts have been made by neighbouring districts to demolish neighbouring structures that are comparable to them.
