SHILLONG: Unidentified miscreants on Saturday night threw a petrol bomb on a police party which was on patrolling duty, sources informed. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident.
According to police sources, on Saturday night at around 11 pm, the petrol bomb was thrown from an unidentified vehicle which was driving at a high speed. Sources said that the vehicle came from Lum Shyiap and reaching a junction near Tiara Restaurant. The people inside the vehicle lobbed the petrol bomb at the security personnel but it did not explode. The suspected petrol bomb fell on the main road. No one was injured.
Police sources further informed that there was smell of kerosene on the spot.
