SHILLONG: National People’s Party (NPP) MDC, PN Syiem on Sunday was expelled from the party for his anti-party activities.

The decision to expel Syiem was taken on Sunday by the disciplinary committee of the party.

It may be mentioned that Syiem who is the Chairman of the KHADC voted in favour of the no-confidence motion on November 20 brought by the Opposition Congress.

It may be reminded that during the No-Confidence Motion, the ruling United Democratic Alliance led by Teinwell Dkhar of the United Democratic Party (UDP) and the Congress were tied at 14 each which necessitated Syiem as the Chairman to vote and he subsequently voted in favour of the No-Confidence Motion resulting in the downfall of the alliance.

However, the party has not acted against two other NPP, MDCs Alvin Sawkmie from Mawsynram and Mitchell Wankhar from Laban.
